This is nonsense. Invariably I have my wallet in my right hand, so putting all the change on top of a piece of paper in my left hand makes it extra awkward to put all the coins into my wallet without tipping everything onto the floor. Just give me the change first, then the receipt, or put the receipt in the bag, or at least give it to me last so I don't lose my fistful of change.
