Tech/Computer geeks

mfmcd57 [Edit] [Delete] 16:19, 24 May '13

So it seems my laptop is fucked. It stopped recognising that I had the most recent version of Flash the other day, so I downloaded the most recent version (via a BBC link). Then when restarting I got the whole "your computer wasn't turned off properly" guff. Since then Windows Media Player isn't recognised and the desktop clock 'gadget' isn't working. Windows 7.

Obviously, my first step was a full system scan using Avast, nothing dodgy detected. Have I got a virus that's caused this? Or do I just re-add WMP and assume there's no long lasting problem?
