"Wild swimming"?

yes_ [Edit] [Delete] 10:51, 17 May '13

http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2013/may/10/wild-swimming-uk-10-top-rivers-pools

The LME are doing it again. They are claiming that if you drive out to a specific spot to go swimming, its wild. Just going swimming somewhere that isn't a pool is transgressive, according to them. Someone needs to check their environmental privilege.

Besides, imagine its the weekend and you pack up your volvo with a picnic and little thermos of coffee and drive for what seems like at least 45 minutes outside the M25 until you get there to find there's no parking spaces: they've all been taken by other people who've read the "top ten wild swimming locations" article in the guardian that week! Plus, a queue has established itself for the quaint little plunge pool area, the charming little waterfall bit is overcrowded and someone's dad as appointed himself de-facto Health and Safety officer, shouting at other people's kids NO RUNNING and he's cornered off a particularly jaggy rock with that red and white stripy tape stuff.
