Just over a year ago I went water-skiing and got a bit cocky. Went over a big wave, survived it initially then fell off. Thing was though, I fell forwards and somehow (still have no idea how this happened) one of the water-skis ended up hitting me square in the face. This is odd because usually when the skis come off they'll keep going ahead of you, leaving you to fall to the side or behind them. Away from them. It hit me at over 50kms/ph just below my nose and knocked me out.

Doctors said if it had hit me in the teeth it would have destroyed them. If it had hit me in the nose it would have shattered it. Instead it just happened to hit me in that hard bone just below the nose. I came to about 30 seconds after being hit and thought I was choking on water. After having been floating about above the water for sometime I realised it was actually blood I was choking on. Finally got hauled back up in the boat, still in shock, and realised there was a deep clean cut where if you opened the wound, could see right through to the inside of my nose. It was disgusting. Got it stitched and sorted out and now it's just a barely noticeable scar.
