OK Saturday night I'm having a little shindig for my birthday upstairs at Camden Head, where the dudes off here do the A-Z night. Me and a lovely lady are going to be DJing general excellent music. Mainly indie and intelligent/classic pop but whatever we deem to be good really. If I know you, you are welcome to come. If I don't know you, and you aren't a total twat, you are also welcome to come. Bring your friends. It's free and starts at 11:00pm.

But yeah, I don't really know much about Camden these days and want to go for a few drinks beforehand. Can anyone recommend a place that is...

- Walking distance to Camden Head (which is equidistant between Camden Town and Mornington Crescent tubes).
- Won't be totally packed and can accomodate 20ish people, ideally seated from about 7ish.
- Isn't shit.
- Isn't full of tossers.
- Has reasonably priced drinks.

If it was nice weather I'd be all over the Lock Tavern beer garden but I fear the big freeze will still be with us. Maybe a nice backstreet boozer? Anyone know any hidden gems?
