Does it seem like fashion is taking longer to change these days, to you?

LOLpop [Edit] [Delete] 13:28, 25 March '13

I remember back in the late 90s / early 80s, fashion seemed to change rapidly. Flared trousers, or really ultra baggy trousers – Madchester era, seemed to start in about 89 and finish in about 91. Then after that you had baggy cut jeans, but a lot narrower. For a few years – say from about 93 to 96, cargo styled trousers were really in. Khaki coloured ones. Then after that you had the whole Trainspotting drainpipe 501’s style for a couple of years – which then gave way to more snowboarding styled stuff.

It just seems that tapered jeans – or, skinny (for want of a better word) have been the general cut of trouser or jean, that you find in any high street clothing shop for about 7 or 8 years now, and whats more, they show no sign of really going out of fashion.

Another example is Ray Ban wayfarers. They’ve been really popular for about 8 years now. Shades never stay in fashion for longer than 2 or 3 years.

I suppose what I’m driving at – The Bilderbergers are behind this, aren’t they..?
