Just been reading the 'Get a job ya fat slag' thread and am a bit alarmed at the authoritarian undercurrent.

Let's face it, none of us are doing up our tie and going to work every morning because we woke up one day and decided The System is just fine as it is, we take great pride in our ability to find more and more elaborate ways to screw our fellow man out of their cash, and we're fully behind the firm and manager we work for.

We do it because we're getting old and buying into all that shit about the unemployed being lazy shirkers, and we want the same pointless gadget Dave from Accounts was flashing about in the canteen this morning to take our minds off the complete absence of empathy and love in society.

When I was young I wanted to do something to change the world in a positive way, however small. I ended up getting jobs at the Inland Revenue and Capita because while I was nurturing and developing my ideas, society was making me feel like a twat for not taking the first shitty job that came along.
