becoming famous

fitzcarraldo [Edit] [Delete] 12:17, 5 March '13

when you were younger did you want to be famous?

when i was a kid i, like most young boys, wanted to be a footballer, up until i realised i was too shit, but i don't ever really remember craving the fame particularly, just that i wanted to play for celtic. then moved on to wanting to be "in a band" but again just kinda fancied doing this in lieu of getting a "real job".

i remember reading lots of apocalyptic articles a few years back about how every young person growing up these days wants to be famous even for five seconds (big brother, endless other reality tv shows) and will do anything to get there but didn't really give it much thought until i noticed recently some of the videos my younger cousins "like" on facebook. Lots of kids ranting into cameras about absolute shite or the worst seem to be videos of kids battering each other/shouting at old grannies before gurning like maniacs at their pals mobile phone. i've also seen the term "facebook famous" banded about a bit, it's pretty worrying these kids are making tits of themselves so publicly at such a young age not realising potential future consequences

so andy warhol eh? LOL
