Despite DiS's bluster that the Conservative's euroscepticism would leave Britain marginalised, it's actually made Cameron the most powerful leader in Europe.

GayGuevara [Edit] [Delete] 13:20, 8 February '13

Cameron trotted off to Brussels demading austerity and a cut in the EU's budget, and that's exactly what he's got - for the first time in its history no less.

Far from becoming the mocked pariah DiS predicted when Cameron offered an in/out referendum, Britain has not only retained its 'seat around the table', but is writing the agenda, setting the terms of the debate, and delivering on what it wants.

It seems, once the details are out, that Britain's individual payments to the EU may rise, but it's a price worth paying for setting a precedent that the EU's budget will not just go up exponentially without question.

Hmmm, interesting...
