today the Deputy Group Finance Director pulled me up on my internet usage. She must have seen browsing the web a few times today, enough to warrant a quiet word. Thing is, pretty much everyone at the uni seems to surf the net whilst working. My defense was that I have absolutely sod all to do despite asking my team. She told me that I need a little project which I can dip in and out off when it gets quiet. The project in question? Sticking a poster to a pillar then photocopying a report six times. My line manager is happy with my work so what's the issue, huh?

Sorry, this has turned into a bit of a moan. So yeah, does your boss care about you surfing the net in quiet periods?
