Films I/you watched this weekend

Antpocalypsenow [Edit] [Delete] 11:44, 14 January '13

Marley & Me - Deliberately had avoided it up to this point to avoid blubbing like a little baby girl. Blubbled like a little baby girl.

Mr Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A Leuchter Jr - On a bit of an Errol Morris kick at the minute. This was interesting but not as interesting as some of his other films I'd seen. As usual he did a great job of not being judgemental with his subject and letting the narrative do the work with as many different voices as is necessary. Ultimately I felt pretty sorry for the guy I think but he was a stupid, stupid man.

Sleeping Beauty - Absolutely vacuous nothing of a film. I'm really keen to see if anyone actually liked it or found any depth to it whatsoever. Beautifully shot, but it had absolutely nothing to say below the surface that I could glean anyway. Browning is beautiful, the film was nothing but gratuitous and her character lacked anything at all that would make me want to know or care about her motivations, back-story, desires or any aspect of her humanity. Hated it.
