Not where, say, one of the main characters has died and they've carried on/introduced a new main character as a replacement, more where there was one protagonist, like who the whole thing was basically set around, then in a different series of the same show it was a complete different character?

Obviously, The Wire introduced different groups of actors each series, but they kept the same main cast.

Was just thinking about how Homeland's got to the point where they could probably relegate Brody to a bit-part role, or even kill him off, and someone like Peter Quinn could quite easily become the protagonist and it'd probably be better.

Did they do it with Two and a Half Men? I don't watch it.
