I was recommending 'The Bridge' to him earlier and he says that because he hasn't been to Scandinavia he has no understanding of their culture therefore a TV show set in Scandinavia would make for pointless viewing and on top of this he says he couldn't stand to have to read subtitles.

Please assure me what he has said is idiotic and I'm not the bellend for watching foreign TV shows.
