which actor had the best run of great films in consecutive years?

forzaborza [Edit] [Delete] 10:15, 19 December '12

I watched a Gene Hackman film called Heist last night. It was one of his latter efforts, so pretty shite, but it reminded me of how many quality films he knocked out during the 70s, and got me thinking about actors who've had the best run of consecutive films.

Anyway, i came to the conclusion that John Cazale would probably win that for The Godfather, The Conversation, The Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon & Deer Hunter. Any other suggestions?

In terms of great films in consecutive years, though, who would you say's had the best run?

Hackman did The French Connection ('71), The Poseidon Adventure ('72), Scarecrow ('73), The Conversation ('74) & Night Moves ('75). I'm gonna say that.

On the subject of John Cazale, i watched this documentary last night about him. It's only 40 minutes long. Reminds you how great he was, and would've gone on to be - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJjDMb31Wok
