I'm fed up of my 14" bush not touching the sides. (Tell me what to buy-centric).

Also, my DVD player wot doubles up as a CD player is on it's last legs. Also, fed up of paying wedge to Virgin for freeview with a patchy/broken catchup tv service.

The only thing that's worth keeping is the trusty amp+speakers.

New TV will take care of freeview. Too stingy to pay for youview. Buying a DVD player with skip track buttons and built in display showing track no and time (so it can be used as a CD player) seems like a thing that doesn't happen with normal amounts of money any more, so I'm resigned to just getting what's available in the modern real world rather than what I actually want. Richer Sounds does a Sony Blu-Ray player with built in wi-fi iplayer and youtube player, which seems like a decent modern one box solution. But tell me what the pros/cons of using a playstation 3 as your CD/DVD player. Those new slim slims seem like reasonable value for £150. Thoughts?
