The so-called 'Darknet'

in_limbo [Edit] [Delete] 01:41, 11 December '12

So I read there was this browser you could get, Tor, that uses a technique called 'onion routing' to make your browsing habits almost completely anonymous and impossible to trace.

This has benefits for people living in societies where their freedom of speech is oppressed and their internet use restricted. But what kind of person in a free society would use this? It seems to be a safe heaven for child pornography and contraband - the Silk Road website openly deals in drugs and weapons with an eBay-like interface.

What do you think?
