New Naturalist books

Royter-Hatfood [Edit] [Delete] 14:26, 3 December '12

I keep seeing these whenever I'm in bookshops. They look really nice and they're always prominently displayed in a kind of here's-an-interesting-book-you-might-want-to-buy way. Maybe like the natural history equivalent of 50 Shades of Gray or Harry Potter.

But if you flick through them they're nothing but fucking stats and graphs and HARD DATA. And then you look on the back and they cost fifty fucking quid! Who are they aimed at? Why are they being displayed so prominently? Why do they have their own section in Foyles? WHO'S BUYING THESE £50 BOOKS ABOUT GROUSE?

(And yes, this is a shit thread but that seems to be the way of things today)
