Your weekend film watching

roastthemonaspit [Edit] [Delete] 09:49, 12 November '12

My Brother the Devil (cinema) - Excellent British film which starts off as somewhat generic but then goes somewhere else entirely. Exciting and some great performances. 9/10

Rust and Bone (cinema) - Strong first half cancelled out by laboured second half and unsatisfying ending. 6/10 (would be a point less if Matthias Schoenaerts wasn't so attractive)

The Sapphires (cinema) - Fun if flimsy story based on real events. Chris o'dowd and Deborah Mailman are excellent though major plot-device in the third act is unconvincing. 6/10

Le Serpent (TV) Brilliant French thriller that has been sitting on my Sky+ box for months. Sense of disbelief needed to be suspended somewhat but all the more fun that way. 8/10

Trash (cinema) - Andy Warhol's infamous tale of drugs and sex in the 1970s, hilarious. 8/10
