Caterpillars

pieces_of_reece [Edit] [Delete] 15:44, 19 October '12

You know caterpillars, right? With their wandering around wondering where would be good to spend some time dangling, right? Well when they are walking they get longer and shorter in a kind of expanding and contracting type motion with various in between bits of body lifting. But my question about caterpillars that I’d really like answered is do they expand their front forward first and then contract or do they contract their rears forward first and then extend their front forward? I’m also wondering whether their equilibrium length is closer to their extended length or their contracted length?
