what do you think the shelf life is of the technology/websites we use just now?

sharp_yet_blunt [Edit] [Delete] 13:08, 16 October '12

i mean a lot of these things we use are in their relative infancy. Especially the internet. Im sure if i asked if you thought you'd still be using DiS in 10-15 years you would say no. But is it crazy to think we would? Will people spend their whole lives as members of the same websites/forums? Why will they stop? In 40 years will we be able to read blogs spanning decades? Will Facebook chronicle your whole life from now to death?

When people thought about the year 2000 60 years ago they imagined flying cars and cities in the sky. Do we still overestimate how far we will progress in the future? What kind of technology will last longer than we imagine?
