Who decided which foods should be consumed for breakfast and which shouldn't?

MerePseudBagHead_III [Edit] [Delete] 18:00, 17 September '12

Just wondered. Please don't hijack this thread and turn it into the most tedious debate of all time, "zomgz you're not a proper northerner if you say lunch rather than dinner for meals eaten at midday." I had some tomato soup for breakfast this morning simply to get rid of a hangover and I have been feeling rather strange since, like I've been slightly jetlagged. Did people in the olden days spend ages experimenting by eating all kinds of things (including chicken, steak etc.) for breakfast before they found it was too harsh on their stomach when they'd just woken up?
