If you're unhappy with your phone during a contract can you change it?

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 16:22, 8 September '12

A few years ago I bought a Blackberry. It was brilliant, easily the best phone I've ever had.

In April my contract ran down and I decided to upgrade to the newer version of it.

It's the worst phone I've ever had. When people call me, it answers in my pocket. Or it hangs up on them automatically due to its naff touchscreen. It's caused pretty big problems for me, especially when it comes to work.

Because I'm fairly early in my contract, am I tied to this awful device for the forseeable future? Or will Orange see my plight and let me change to something else? What's the best way of approaching it with them?

I've found mobile phone salesmen to be almost as slippery as estate agents, so I'm wary.
