Philosophical Friday Thread: Internet Authenticity

monoshono [Edit] [Delete] 12:58, 7 September '12

I think that many of you will agree that a majority of the best and most entertaining posts on Social Board are personal anecdotes or stories.

The question is: do these stories need to be true to be appreciated? Is something plausible but untrue able to tell us something about life – do the blurred lines between fact and fiction enhance the tale, or are they worrying to you?

Should people forgiven for trying to start ‘epic’ threads that a based on deception – recent example ‘Peppermint Apes’, say?
