'Sockpuppetry' and fake reviews

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 11:14, 5 September '12

So there's been a few cases recently of authors being caught out posting reviews of their own work on Amazon and elsewhere, while slagging other people off at the same time. Are you surprised by this? Do you bother reading reviews, or trust them if you do? Should Amazon changes how it works (like only allow reviews from people who have bought the products?) Do we need 'real' critics?
