When did changing a headlamp bulb become such a major exercise? [General moan thread]

urbanfox [Edit] [Delete] 18:35, 31 August '12

Just made an attempt at changing one of the side light bulbs (luckily not one of the main bulbs as I'm out in the dark tonight) on my motor.

However, as I did not have a 5 year old with me - who *may* have been able to get their hand into the tiny space between the headlight and the gubbins of the engine - it was a rather fruitless and frustrating effort.

A quick Google reveals that unless you happen to have baby hands, you'll probably need to get the bumper off and take the whole headlight assembly out to do it. Or just to be sure TAKE IT TO THE DEALER.

What a fucking con. I appreciate that the car is only the size of a shopping trolley, but I'm sure they could've created enough space to make changing a bulb the simple task it should be - as it stands, it would be just as easy to do the brakes.

Think I'll let my hands (and head) cool down a bit and try again in a while.

Anyone else got any moaning to get off their chest this afternoon?
