a guy i know taught english as a foreign language in china without any degree or relevant qualification

flickmyturtletoo [Edit] [Delete] 11:45, 26 August '12

i want to do a tefl/tesol course, but with redundancy looming, no new job found, and money being tight (i.e., non-existent) i'm realising just how goddamned expensive life is atm, particularly if you're wanting to branch out and do something different. as someone who didn't really achieve what he should have academically and is now realising how screwed he is in terms of employability and life experience (i've lived very little), i'm becoming a tad obsessed with retaking a couple of exams and applying for a tefl/tesol course. problem being that a couple of the courses i've looked at are pricey (for me atm) and require a degree, which i do not have.

this brings me back to the thread title, and my question is how did this sleazeball acquaintance, sex pest that he is, possibly swing that?

is it possible his parent, involved as she is in academic things, somehow swung him a paid-yet-voluntary placement where he learned on the job, so to speak?

and also, is it okay to still have no clue what you're doing with your life as you approach your mid-twenties?
