I was on my way home from the shops and this police van with the sirens going came screeching to halt ahead of me, did a quick 3 point turn and stopped a bit further up. One officer jumped out and ran round the corner, and the other started to talking to a group of 3 girls, aged maybe 8-12, out of his window.

As I got closer I took my headphones out to nose what was going on, and I heard the youngest looking girl saying "...and he was asking us all these weird questions like Where do you live, Where are your parents, How old are you, What are you doing tonight..." and then the officer asked them to get in the van.

A few moments later when I got round the corner I saw the other officer questioning a bloke in his 50s/60s, pretty much looked exactly like the Daily Mail paedo stereotype, horrible shoulder length wiry grey hair, wonky massive glasses, blotchy face, stonewash jeans with a dirty t-shirt tucked into them.

Anyway that's all I know. I guess this means that:

a) he had a legitimate reason for asking those questions and it was a genuine misunderstanding of some sort.

b) he's a total paedophile and had sinister motives.

c) the kids we're making it up because they knew and disliked him for some other reason

d) the kids completely misread the situation or exaggerated it because he conformed to their received ideas of what a paedophile looks like

Anyway, whatever the truth, I hope justice prevails.
