I have somehow managed to get through my life to this point without having a proper bank account, due to not having a regular job.

As such, I am a bit of an idiot when it comes to this sort of thing.

Who is the best bank to open a current account with? Or are they all pretty much the same?

I have a savings account with Nationwide at the moment which I have had since I was a kid, but now I have a job I need to start being an adult with a real bank account. Should I just upgrade with them? Will I get bonuses if I tell them I'm defecting and need a sweetener to remain?

So yeah tell me about banks, yeah?
