BBC Sport hypocrisy (football themed)

JohnDTraynor [Edit] [Delete] 01:14, 30 July '12

Months preceding the O'Lympics, (not allowed to use the correct spelling), 5Live and BBC Sport droned on and on about the football tournament as if it had a similar stature to the Euros and World Cup. In particular, they criticised with vitriol the Scottish, Welsh and Irish FAs for refusing to co-operate, they criticised the FA for not allowing Pierce to pick English players who were at the Euros, (other than Buttland), and they criticised Premier League managers for obstructing the availability of some players, for example, Jack Rodwell and Gareth Bale.

However, it is startlingly clear that BBC Sport ascribes no value to the football tournament: Almost all of the games are hidden away on obscure non-Freeview channels, even the British games are relegated to BBC 3; there is virtually no radio commentary on games not involving a British team; the match pundits are snug in the O'Lympic Park rather than at the ground, and, most disturbingly, the presenter is off-the-assembly-line, charmless, ignorant Jake Humprey.

Screaming hypocrisy.
