1. Shadow of the Wind by some spanish bore.
2. Because my wife liked it and then it was a recommendation on R4 book club and there were TWO copies in the house and I had nothing else to read.
3. About half way.
4. It was complete toss. Every page I was rolling my eyes and going "for fucks sake" and it was really boring.
