I'm not really a fan of arthouse cinema in general, which I'd explain in terms of the fact I tend to like films with a compelling plot and narrative and things that just sort of create a mood or atmosphere but tend to be a bit intellect over emotion don't tend to connect with me and nothing really annoys me more than pretentious cinema that strives for high-art over storytelling.

You can judge me if you want for that - I'm comfortable enough with myself not to care but that's not really the issue here.

The question is someone keeps trying to push me to watch Krzysztof Kie?lowski's films. I'm not keen as I'm pretty sure they're not going to be my thing. Bearing in mind the above, and my film taste, is it actually worth me giving them a try or are they just going to annoy me?
