The ubiquity of pork scratchings at Asda (and possibly others)

urbanfox [Edit] [Delete] 18:59, 8 July '12

I'd never noticed this til yesterday, so not sure whether its specific to 'my' Asda, all Asdas, or indeed all supermarkets.

But, you know how in supermarkets you get products on 'strips' hanging off the racking at various places along the aisle - with tin openers, drinking straws and other such miscellany on them?

Well, I noticed that in every aisle (certainly every aisle I went down) these strips featured pork scratchings. I can certainly understand such a delicacy being suggested in the booze aisle, but they were everywhere, including next to the halal and kosher foods.

I'm assuming someone at the distribution centre cocked up the order and its left them with a mountain of scratchings to shift.

Anyone else noticed this in their Asda/other supermarket?

(another great thread, I know)
