I'm taking pointless to mean:

1. involving the least skill.
and/or
2. being the most boring.
and/or
3. being too complicated with no good reason.

For me it might be tennis. It is very boring and repetitive and at times it seems almost arbitrary as to who wins, whilst the whole rigmarole of all the line judges and ball boys seems way too elaborate. I know I'm probably wrong but I don't care enough to find out.
