Post something about a local landmark

So a building, or some natural feature from where you live. Preferably interesting (mildly, at least).

I don't live a million miles away from Hamilton Mausoleum:

It's built in the grounds of the Hamilton Palace (which was demolishedmany years ago - a retail park and some football pitches are there now).

It reportedly has the longest echo of any man-made structure in the world, and the interior features 'whispering walls', where someone can face one wall and have their whispers clearly heard by someone facing the opposite wall.
