Does anyone have any experience of a previously failed relationship being successfully reignited?

I've always had a strict policy of never ever going back and it tends to be a good one in hindsight.

But if there was no animosity during the initial breakup, if things just "didn't work out", and you've managed to remain friends since - is it ever a good idea to go for it again? Or never?
