please don't turn this into some awful thread going GOD DNT EXST LOL.

Basically religion is very important and has impacted how society works for thousands upon thousands of years. It's bollocks, in my view, but nevertheless it is important bollocks, and it just won't do to make it stand in the corner and laugh at it until it has a little cry before, inevitably, forgiving us.

So I thought it'd be quite interesting to learn about how different religions have started, developed and affected the world around them over these years. I just think it would be nice to broaden my horizons a bit, learn more about our history and get my head around why certain groups act in such ways etc.

Obviously this is quite a big area, with the number of years in question being way over five and there being more than one major religion. Just wondered if any of you clever guys and gals have any tips for books (not the religious texts, more like histories), vids, podcasts and other stuff which could help.
