Getting into bed and noticing a daunting and warrior-like spider perched less than a metre above my head, do I turn the lights out, turn over and ignore it (knowing that at any moment it could tumble down and into my mouth) or move my pillow to the other end of the bed, watching as it slowly creeps towards me?

The drama was such that I put him in a mug and took him downstairs -
I felt too guilty to haul the poor guy out of the window...
