How much are they paying these newsreaders/presenters to sound so overwhelmingly excited by someone carrying a flaming cheese grater through Cornwall?

Is this exciting? Can someone explain why this is exciting?

I can understand why someone may be looking forward to such thrilling examples of human athleticism as Gabon vs UAE in the football, Roman wrestling and handball, but someone walking around with a bit of fire? I'm not sure that is exciting, even by Cornish standards.

The only bit of this that I am looking forward to is when some youth inevitably makes a grab for it or throws a bucket of water at it.
