and i can't tell if i was just completely in the wrong, or just a bit.

so i'm at this nature trail thing, it's a nice sunny day. suddenly, a heron lands on the boardwalk about 15 feet away, i get a picture but it's a bit of an awkward angle so i carefully try to get a bit closer/to the side and unfortunately the heron decided that was too close and fucked off. then, i turn around and this couple are stood there and the woman is doing that thing where she's not confronting me but talking shit about me beneath her breath, but intentionally so loud i'm supposed to hear. "why not use the zoom? fucking moron" etc

so i just try saying "i'm sorry i ruined your day, it's not that big of a deal" and she gives me this stare like she's about to go apeshit so i just shrug and begin to walk away. then i hear her shouting WALK AWAY, WALK ON....WALK. ON. like we're in a bar or some shit.

then later we cross paths again and she says something else but i miss it

on the one hand, maybe i should have paid more attention to the people around me and decided to keep a distance so everyone could enjoy the heron, but then again i wasn't being a massive, loud dick about it and i have just as much right as she does to be there.

i hate confrontation with strangers, it really eats at me. i keep second guessing myself.
