So we’ve had the bailiffs knocking on the door regarding an unpaid debt against the property. This debt belongs to my housemate’s previous tenant, who is now swanning about in Egypt or something and is wholly uncontactable

Does the fact that this guy hasn’t lived here for years give us any sway here? Or are they going to claim my extremely large television as penance for this chuffter’s inability to look after his finances?
