JAG! Brighton-Tonight-Centric

Gashwrecker [Edit] [Delete] 12:22, 27 April '12

Hi,

I'm putting on this show tonight...might interest about 6 of you on here?

SLOW SCIENCE
Punkrock with an Indie-rock tinge, a la The Thermals, Husker Du etc - Ex/Current/Whatever Serf Combat, Black Tax, Heroic Doses, Axes, Maths, more I can't remember. Anyway, they're bloody great and they don't play that much so you should definitely come and see them.

THE DISSOCIATES
Dischordant Post-Punk from some ex-Ye Wiles personnel and others. London based and with a critically acclaimed first EP/Mini-Album - this is for fans of Future of The Left, Fugazi and Straight up Punkrock. Well good.

THREE SUMMERS STRONG
Ace Brighton based punkrock ffo Hot Water Music / Latterman /Against Me! Emotive punkrock without being at all emo. I don't even know what that means. I'm rubbish with descriptions, but they've been really bloody great both times I've put them on before and I don't expect they've suddenly gone balls overnight, don't prove me wrong lads.

GREAT ANCESTORS
Kent DIY Post-punkrock doing their thing. Their thing is a bit like a wonkier shoutier version of Hot Snakes maybe?! Anyway, I've been trying to get this lot on a show for ages as they're awesome.

CARDINAL FINK
From Kent/Surrey - Some rather lovely 'distinguished' gentleman doing some very rocking powerpop like Guided by Voices via Mega City Four, maybe a smidge of the Thermals in there? Tight as a gnats chuff.

It's the Cowley, so usual rules apply...I.E. GUESTS AND MEMBERS ARE BOTH WELCOME.

SUGGESTED DONATION £4 members, £5 guests - But probably £5 so I can give a decent wedge to bands and the Cowley Club.

Time - Doors 7.30pm and first band at 7.45-8pm - all finished by half 11 at the very latest.
