bit of a let down.

i normally love depression-era stuff, all that, but this was a bit soulless, imho.

no characters you feel strongly about either way. johnny depp just being johnny depp for a couple of hours. the fat lad from This Is England doing more awful Italian-American accents, etc.

a good ending, though, the cinema scene and subsequent shooting are tense as fuck, and marion cottilard's got a great rack, but i don't think they do what's a great story justice, tbh.
