The politics of desire

ohgood [Edit] [Delete] 13:50, 10 April '12

"The other reason for Democrats to keep quiet about their desires is simply that they don’t have any they can recognize; for a generation or more, they have been in the literal sense a conservative party, mostly concerned with maintaining existing institutions of social welfare or moderating the pace at which they are dismantled."

That's about the US obviously, but does politics in the UK have any vision beyond maybe maintaining/increasing living standards?

What do you want society to look like in 20 years' time? I'd like it to be exactly like now, but we all work three day weeks.
