i've not travelled much since i was a kid and when i have it's been to stay with family near the UK, but on Thursday i'm flying to america on holiday and have a bunch of questions, and thought i may as well ask.

1) what do i have to do in New York? (5th-14th april)
So far i've got:
go to coney island
eat cheesecake
eat chinese food
go to UCB
go to pianos
go to cake shop
get a ferry and look at manhatten

2) what do i have to do in chicago? (13th to 17th april - dates overlap cos i'm not sure when i'm going between them yet)
so far i've got:
go to rainbo and pester tim kinsella
stare at electrical audio and pester steve albini
eat a deep dish pizza
look at the lake

3) what do i have to do in LA? (16th-19th, 23rd, 24th april)
so far i've got:
go to UCB
go to Largo
go to Meltdown comics
go to Amoeba
look at the ocean
eat mexican food

4) has anyone been to coachella festival before? what's a good way to get there from LA? i don't have a camping space sorted. am i fucked? any general advice on the festival and how it compares to, say, Reading?

5) what do i need to make sure I bring with me? passport, camera, travel power supply thing? how many changes of clothes should i take for a 19 day holiday?
