Your ideal working environment

chris_is_cool [Edit] [Delete] 10:52, 3 April '12

This goes for both the working world and university. I'm currently starting my final coursework of my degree. It's odd as it's only very small and has little bearing on my final result - only 2,000 words on post-apocalyptic literature! However, i'd still like to do well.

But, sat here in my room, there's a horrible smell coming from outside. I want my windows to be open to get rid of the sleep smell, but the other smell is hideous. It's like a mix of petrol, rubbish bags and manure.

Also the noise of the bus which stops outside every 6 minutes gets annoying - not to mention the blip blip blip of oyster cards.

Can you work in your office with other people talking/rustling crisp packets/lifting and sinking their swivel chair?

I can usually work with a certain level of noise in the background and with distraction I can still focus - you can overcome a smell fairly easily, but it's just made me realise I cant do my normal essay writing rituals. I'll probably fail now.
