John Carter and other flop big budget movies- a thread
That John Carter gubbins is apparently going to lose Disney something in the region of $200m. Don't have any Hollywood mates so can't profess to know much about how these big budget films work, but surely alarm bells must have been ringing at Disney quite a while ago ... A character with virtually no broader profile, a film clearly aimed primarily at families but coming in at over two hours long, no established names properly starring in it etc, etc. Apparently $100m was spent on marketing alone- is that because they knew the film itself was shit?
But to turn this into a proper thread, I ask what your favourite Hollywood flop film is (see handy BBC link for some prompts). Always quite enjoyed The 13th Warrior myself ...
