I just went to the petrol station to buy some sandwiches and when I went to pay for them, the guy at the counter asked 'Any fuel?'

Without thinking I said 'No thanks'.

Afterwards I laughed to myself, because it must have seemed to the guy that I hadn't considered the possibility of getting some fuel, when actually being in a petrol station. And when he'd asked me if I wanted some fuel, I'd replied that I didn't, almost as if it was an extra service along with the sandwich that I was buying.

I wonder if the attendant did actually think that?
