Looks like circumstances (lovely girlfriend based circumstances) mean that I will be getting a PS3 by the end of the month.

I've not had a console since the PS2, and am completely out of the loop in terms of which games are great. I've heard a few names of titles banded around, but don't have any clue as to what is decent.

Some games I have loved in the past:

Beyond Good and Evil
God of War
Final Fantasy games
Decent platformers
Timesplitters.

Other question: Is there a new Timesplitters coming out? I heard the company went bust, which is a shame as that was one of my favourite games ever.
