Hi you lot, I'm sure this thread has been done before but...

I've decided I want to go to Berlin on holiday this year. However I know absolutely nothing about how to book a holiday, and I'm reluctant to google things like 'cheap flights' and 'cheap rooms' and pay for the first thing I find. So if anyone has any wisdom to impart then that'd be great.

Anyone got any tips on good places to find accommodation? I'm probably looking to go mid-September for my birthday. I don't have a lot of money to do it with.

And if people can tell me how great Berlin is then that might help me put some money away to make it happen.
