Football thread pt 2 - Strike Partnerships

jacques_le_biscuit_ [Edit] [Delete] 12:50, 27 February '12

I didn't want this gem to get lost in the usual daily football thread. Was thinking the other day how there seems to be a severe lack of great strike partnerships these days. Gone are the days of Yorke & Cole, Bebeto & Romario, Shearer & Sheringham etc. Where are they? Is it because of teams being more defensive, often with only one main man up front? Or teams are rotated so often that there's no opportunity to strike up that relationship.

Could Ba and Cisse fill this void, probably not. I'd like to see Tevez & Aguerro up front for City but that probably won't happen.

Lets all get misty eyed.
